Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day!! Today I wanted to share with you the cards that I made for Father's day. First, this is the card that I made for my dad. For this I embossed a piece of aluminum foil with my Big Shot to create the faux diamond plate background. I really like that way it turned out! I was inspired by this card here, I just changed up a few things.


Next, here is the card that I made my husband. For this one, I got my idea here.



And last but not least, here is the card I made for my girls to give their Daddy. :) The idea for this card came from here.

A Thank You for Miss Angie

Today is my daughter Aimee's big dance recital. On Wednesday she had her last dance practice. Today I wanted to share with you the card that I made for her to give her dance teacher Miss Angie. I used the All in the Family stamp set to make a cartoon version of Aimee and Miss Angie. I colored cartoon Aimee's tutu similar to her actual costume. :)

June Technique Class

Yesterday I held my monthly technique class. I had a full house again this month and we had a ton of fun! Today I wanted to share with you the projects that we made. For these first two projects I want to thank my up-upline Julie for the inspiration! She helped me out when I was stumped this month! If you notice a few of the projects on her blog resemble mine, it is because I CASEd her. :)

Here is the first card. For this card we used did the Folded Paper Frame technique. Everyone loved this technique since it is an awesome way to show off the double sided Designer Paper. I switched up Julie's design just a little bit and embossed the entire background using the new Lattice embossing folder.

For this next card, I showed the gals how to watercolor using markers and an aquapainter to color in the bicycle image. We then added Crystal Effects to the bike to create a cool enamel finish and add some texture to the card. Again - I was inspired by Julie for this one, I just switched up the card stock color, designer paper, and ribbon based on what I had on hand.

For these next two projects, I used layouts that I found in the new 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog as my inspiration. There are a ton of great of ideas in the new catalog! First, I demonstrated the new builder wheels for this card. We used the Itty Bitty Buttons and coordinating punches on this and then to jazz it up we spritzed with white Smooch Spritz.

And last, but not least, I wanted to do something for the 4th of July, and since the 4th of July is not really a card giving holiday, I decided to do a scrapbook page instead. I figured that everyone takes pictures on the fourth, so now they will have page ready for all those photos! The layout for the page was also inspired by a layout in the new catalog and is 8" x 8". For this we used the July 4th stamp set and the Red, White, and Blue jumbo wheel from the Summer Mini Catalog. We created the background in a snap by using one of the larger clear blocks and putting several of the different images on the block and were able to stamp the whole thing at once! Here is how the 8" x 8" page turned out.

Since everyone likes to scrapbook different sizes of pages, I choose to do 8" x 8" because it can either be left as is, or it can easily be mounted to an 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of card stock, or a 12" x 12" piece of card stock, depending on what people prefer. I, myself, like to do 12" x 12", so here is my page after I added some pictures from the 4th of July last year and then mounted it on 12" x 12" piece of card stock. I also added a piece of Whisper White card stock as a layer and stamped the same background on the Real Red base card stock.

So, all-in-all it was a great class this month! Looking forward to next month! Hope you can join us! :)

Aimee's Preschool Graduation

Almost 2 weeks ago my daughter Aimee graduated from preschool. It is hard to believe that she will be heading to kindergarten in a little over 9 weeks from now! Today, I wanted to share with you all the goodies I made for the big day!

First, here is the card that I made her. The primary colors are perfect for preschool graduate, don't you think? :)

Next, I made little 4x4 cards for her to give to everyone in her graduating class (there were only 4 of them, so it was pretty easy!). Aimee then filled out the inside and passed them out to each of her friends after the ceremony.

Next, I made these little pencil holders for each of the graduates. We filled them with glittery heart pencils for them to take to kindergarten with them! (Yes, all the graduates were girls this year!) I also added a tag with each girls initial on it.

Next up is the teachers. For each teacher I made a thank you card. Since Aimee had been going to that preschool/daycare since she was only 3 months old, she around all of them for a very long time! Aimee of course signed the inside of the cards herself. :)

And last, but not least, here are the gifts that we gave to the teachers along with their card. I used the Flower Folds dies and my Big Shot to create the larger than life flowers. We attached each flower to a wooden BBQ skewer and added some butterfly accents (also cut with my Big Shot). We then inserted the flowers into a bag of chocolates and tied it off with ribbon. Needless to say, the teachers loved them!

The Last-Chance Accessories list has been updated again to indicate additional items that have sold out. These items are going quickly, so get your orders in quick! Click here to download the updated list.

Note on Carryover Colors of Card Stock on Last Chance List

On the Last Chance list, you will notice that several of our carryover colors of card stock are listed, as they are being reconfigured for the new catalog on July 1. As stock on the current configuration of these products is depleted, they will be listed as "sold out" on the Last Chance list. For example, both the 8-1/2 x 11 and 12 x 12 packs of Basic Black indicate that they are sold out, as they are both changing for the new catalog, and our current stock on these items has sold out.

However, as these products are carrying over into the new catalog in new configurations, instead of having these items be unavailable until July 1, the new configuration will be offered as soon as they are available. For example, 8-1/2 x 11 Basic Black card stock has been available in packs of 40, but in the new catalog it will be part of the Neutrals collection (which will now make up part of our core line of colors), and be offered in packs of 24, like the other individual color packs of card stock. As the packs of 40 in Basic Black have now sold out, as well as the packs of 12 x 12, we can now make the new configurations available.
