Real Life Journal

Hi everyone.  Today's project is one of the older Paper Pumpkin kits that I finally got around to putting together.  It is a  journal/scrapbook.  Here's the cover:

Inside the paper bag can hold souvenirs and other goodies.

There are several pages inside for pictures and journaling.

The kit also came with stamps,stickers, and additional wooden people to embellish the pages.

Christmas Album

Today I wanted to share with you the Christmas album I made. I CASEd this right out of the catalog! This is a 6x6 album. I always hear that our scrapbook albums are too plain. I always tell people that they are plain for a reason - they are a blank canvas just waiting to be decorated! I am determined to scrapbook my pictures from Christmas this year, and I hoping that having this album all decorated and ready to go will inspire me! :) Plus, since it is a 6x6 album, it is not too overwhelming and it is meant to be a small project. Another bonus - the 6x6 scrapbook pages we made during my Christmas card class fit right in here. That is two pages already done! :)

To create this, I started with one of our 6x6 linen albums. I then used the scallop rectangle from the On Board Merry Melody pack as a template to trace a bigger scallop square on Old Olive card stock. I then hand cut it out. I then took piece of window sheet and applied the Letters to Santa Decor Elements (I got 2 packs of these - one in Old Olive and one in Real Red to create the multicolored look). I used the Merry & Type stamp set to stamp the ornaments on a piece of Very Vanilla card stock with black ink which I adhered behind the window sheet using Dimensionals. I then measured out the space I would need to cut out of the center of the scalloped square and cut that out and adhered the window sheet to that. I then adhered the whole thing to the album itself using Dimensionals. I then added the ribbon and tag the album - again using the Merry & Type set as well as the Calendar Alphabet set. Cut out a snowflake with my Big Shot and added a Trinket Key, tied everything together and done! :) Here is a close up shot of the tag:

Now - I just need to print out some pictures and start scrapbooking! :)

May Demonstrator Swap

Today I wanted to share with you the project I did for our May demonstrator swap. The challenge for May was to to create a scrapbook page (any size) using something from the new Summer Mini Catalog and the picture on the page had to be one of you as a kid.

So, here is my page. It is 12 x 12. I used a picture of me and my BFF since kindergarden, Merrigrace (who also happends to be my upline) with our sisters at Magic Mountain back in the day. I used the Nautical Expedition DSP, and Travel Log stamp set from the Summer Mini.

A Page for Teacher

My daughter Aimee's last day of Kindergarten is today. I can't believe this year has gone by so fast and I will have a first grader! Some of the other mom's in the class organized getting a scrapbook put together for their teacher. They sent home a page with each child to create with. Here is the page that I helped Aimee put together. Yes, HELPED, not did for her. :) I have been training her well so she was able to do pretty much everything you see here by herself. :) The main thing I did was cut the paper for her. Oh, and print out the picture, which was taken on her first day of school. She picked out the paper, stamped, punched, cut die cuts out with my Big Shot, colored, taped, etc. by herself.

She wanted to add a message to her teacher, so I had her cut out the little envelope with my Big Shot and then write a note to stick inside. The envelope is held shut with a magnet.


I sure hope her teacher likes it! :)
