Quick Card

Today I wanted to share with you a quick card that I made using the Flower Power Card Elements kit from Stampin' Up!. These kits are wonderful when you are short on time and need a quick card. Plus, they all have coordinating stamp sets so you can add even more versitility to them. The kits come with everything you need to create at least 9 cards and are only $15.95. Can't beat that!

Birthday Card

Today I wanted to share with you a birthday card I made for my husband's grandmother. Her birthday is tomorrow. I liked this card so much much that I ended up making another one that I plan to give to my brother's long time girlfriend whose birthday is at the end of this month. :) For this I actually gave my Stampin' Up! stamps a little break and used some of my new Papertrey Ink stamps. I was inspired by some of Dawn McVey's cards. Of course, hers look much more awesome than mine! All the details are below.

Ingredients:

• Hand Written Notes stamp set (Papertrey Ink)
• Real Red, Old Olive, and Whisper White card stock
• Real Red, Old Olive, and Basic Black ink
• Real Red 5/8" grosgrain ribbon
• Eyelet Border punch

Strike 1

Today I have another page for you from Chris' scrapbook. You can see my original post for all the details of this project, or click here to see all the pages I have posted so far. I call this page Strike 1 because it is an error card, so to speak. This photo was published as a baseball card, however the name of the player and the team that he plays for is incorrect on the card! Chris admits that it was his fault as he submitted it incorrectly to the card company, however I told him that the card company should have caught this error and they didn't. So this is his first strike (pun intended). Besides, aren't error cards more valuable anyway? :) So, for this I printed out a copy of the photo and have two copies of the card to show the front and back. I cut out the Strike 1 with my Cricut and the Baseball solutions cartridge. The journaled the story using the Ali Edwards' "The Story" stamp set from Technique Tuesday. Hopefully we won't have a "Strike 2" page anytime soon!

Happy Birthday Nicole

Today is my cousin-law Nicole's birthday. For her card, I used the Darling Dots level 1 hostess set. I textured one of my layers with my texture plate and Big Shot. I also pulled out some of my retired designer series paper for this one. The dots in the paper coordinate with the polka dots I created with my texture plate. I hope she likes it!

Fleurette Barrettes

Today I wanted to share with you a super easy way to create some super cute barrettes using Stampin's Up!s Fleurettes crochet flower embellishments. These take all of 2 seconds to make! All I did was take a Pop-Up Glue Dot, stuck it to the Fleurette and then stuck it to a plain old barrette. Easy-peasy! Check out my models - aren't they cute? :) I had my older one wear them during my technique class on Sunday to show my gals how cute and easy these are to make. And wouldn't you know it? I inspired some of them to buy the supplies to make their own!

Cards from Yesterday's Technique Class

Hi everyone. I wanted to share with you the cards I had my gals do in my technique class yesterday. First up, I showed my gals how to distress embossed images.

For this card I was inspired by this card here. I changed up the ribbon to use the new satin ribbon in the Occasions Mini catalog and used the Urban Oasis designer series paper, but the idea is the same. To do this, all you need to do is lightly sand the ridges of your embossing image with a sanding block. Super easy! Don't you just love the new Manhattan Flower Impressions Die?

Ingredients:

• Oval All stamp set
• Large Oval and Scallop Oval punches
• Whisper White and Baja Breeze card stock
• Urban Oasis Designer Series Paper
• Basic Grey and Baja Breeze ink
• Manhattan Flower Textured Impressions Die and Big Shot
• Whisper White 5/8" Satin Ribbon
• Sanding Block
• Stampin Dimensionals

Next I showed how to do paper piecing and created a cute Easter card:

• A Good Egg stamp set
• Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, and Kiwi Kiss card stock
• Chocolate Chip ink

• Pink Pirouette stripped grosgrain ribbon
• Soft Subtles brads

Next we did a hidden message hinge card:

• An Egg-Cellent Easter stamp set
• Egg Hunt wheel
• Wheel Guide
• Barely Banana, Certainly Celery, Regal Rose, and Very Vanilla card stock
• Regal Rose 5/8" grosgrain ribbon
• Certainly Celery, Regal Rose, and Close to Cocoa ink
• Scallop Edge Punch
• Soft Subtles brads

Lastly, we made a little Easter treat box using the Box #2 die for the Big Shot and filled with candy eggs!

The stamp for the journaling is from the For the Record set by Autumn Leaves. Sorry the photo of this page isn't the greatest. I was getting a lot of glare from the photo when taking the picture.....
