Happy Halloween Frame

Today I have a project for you straight out of the Holiday Mini Catalog. I had some Spooky Things Decor Elements left from the pumpkins that I created (posted here), so I decided to create this piece of wall art. I simply took the Happy Halloween image and applied it to the front of the glass of a 8' x 10' frame. I then took a piece of the Nite Owl Designer Paper (the piece with the tree design on it) and cut it so that the tree would be in the bottom of my frame. I then stamped using the Dark and Deary and Baroque Motifs stamp sets to add to the already decorated paper. Once I got the look I wanted, I simply inserted the paper in the frame and hung it on the wall! Easy-peasy!

Ingredients

  • Dark and Deary stamp set
  • Baroque Motifs stamp set
  • Spooky Things Decor Elements
  • Nite Owl Designer Series Paper
  • Old Olive, Tangerine Tango, and Basic Black Classic Ink

Spooky House

I finally got my Halloween Design-a-House completed! I love the way this turned out and it was SO EASY! First I assembled the house. Just and FYI - you will need Sticky Strip for this. Then I took it outside and spray painted it black with some glossy spray paint. I also cut a piece of wire to use for the bats and spray painted that black as well. While the paint was still wet, I sprinkled on some Dazzling Diamonds glitter. While it was drying I created the Happy Halloween banner using the Dark and Deary stamp set. I also punched out the bats with the Bitty Bat punch from various sheets of the Wicked Fun Specialty Paper and card stock. I cut pieces of vellum to use in the windows and stamped those with images from both the Dark and Deary and Wicked Cool stamp sets. I added a Glimmer Brad for the doorknob and then stuck everything else on the house! Super easy, fast, and cool! I plan to get one of those electric votive candles to set inside the house. The light from the votive will shine through the vellum windows and really make it look spooky!

Spooky Tray

Today I have another super easy project using Stampin' Up!s Decor Elements. For this one I used the Spooky Bats Decor Element. This is the smallest size in Basic Black. I simply rubbed this on a plastic serving tray that I found at the Dollar Spot in Target a while back (love the Dollar Spot for finding awesome things to decorate!). This project took me about 2 minutes to make. Seriously!

This tray is perfect to use as a tray for treats at Halloween! Don't forget that even though Decor Elements are not dishwasher safe, they can be hand washed (just be careful not to scrub too hard!).

And here is a picture of my daughter Aimee modeling the tray. Such a good helper! :)

September Demonstrator Swap

Today I would like to share with you the cards from our September Demonstrator Swap. This month's challenge was to create a Halloween project which includes making a piece of "Designer Paper" using stamps or a wheel and then incorporating that piece of designer paper int the card or project. There were 3 participants in this challenge this month. Here is what everyone came up with!

Here is my card. I used the new Bring on the Bats wheel to create "Designer Paper" for the top portion of the background for my card. I also used the sprider web stamp from the Wicked Cool stamp set to create the middle layer of "Designer Paper". The bottom layer is real Designer Paper from the Wicked Fun Specialty Designer Paper pack. To complete my card, I cut out a tag from the Two Tags die with my big shot and then stamped the the witches shoes and sentiment from the Wicked Cool stamp set. Lastly I cut a strip of the 1-1/4" Striped Grosgrain ribbon in half and tied it around the tag and added one of the new black glimmer brads to the top. I let the cut part of the ribbon fray so it gave it more of a spooky flair. :) I modeled the layout of the card from something I saw out on Stampin' Connection. So many good ideas out there!

Here is Merrigrace's card. Spooky!

And here is Kim's project. A cute little milk carton with goodies inside on a stick! :)
