Printed Window Sheets

Hi all. Today I have a card for you that I created using the new Clearly Thanks Printed Window Sheets from the Occasions Mini Catalog, which starts TOMORROW! To attach the window sheet to the card stock, I simply stuck a little glue dot on the underside of a couple of the leaves and used my snail adhesive under the ribbon so it is very discrete. This card looks much better in person though. It was hard to get a good photo because of the reflection and glare that was coming off the window sheet.

Ingredients:

  • Lavender Lace and So Saffron Textured Card Stock
  • Clearly Thanks Printed Window Sheets
  • Certainly Celery 5/8" grosgrain ribbon
  • 5 Petal punch
  • 5/16" jumbo brads
  • Glue dots

Brett Wallace Page

It is time to share another page from Chris' scrapbook. You can see my original post for all the details of this project, or click here to see all the pages I have posted so far. This page is for a picture that was published in June 2, 2008 issue of Sporting News magazine. For this I printed out a small picture of the cover of the magazine and cut out the picture and article, being careful to include the photo credit (which is on that long "tail" coming off the bottom of the picture). I then put a 5x7 of the actual photo and then used a stamp from the For the Record set by Autumn Leaves for the journaling.

Birthday Card

Today I wanted to share with you the card I made for a friend's birthday. I pretty much CASEd another card (but for the life of me I can't remember where I saw it). March Demonstrator Swap

Yesterday we had our monthly demonstrator swap. This month we were tasked to make a retro card using the SU! Cheep Talk set and retro colors. Pretty much following the Retro Fresh style watch in the current catalog. My card was inspired by a card I saw in the gallery on Splitcoast. I changed up a few things though to make it mine. I used the Little Leaves, Top Note, and texture plates with my Big Shot on this, as well as our felt flowers and corduroy buttons:

Here is Merrigrace's card:

Another Henry Sosa Page

Today I have another page from Chris' scrapbook for you. You can see my original post for all the details of this project, or click here to see all the pages I have posted so far. This one is another baseball card. This is the second card that was made using one of Chris' photos of this particular player, Henry Sosa. This one is kind of cool because it is an autograph card (card comes out of the pack autographed). For this I scrapped the card and a 5 x 7 of the original photo. I used a stamp from the For the Record 3 set by Autumn Leaves to record the player and location information. Then I used a stamp from the Calendar Stamps set by Autumn Leaves to record the date the photo was taken. Hope you enjoy this page. Until next time.....

Weekend Workshop

Yesterday I did a workshop for my cousin-in-law Nicole and her friend (they co-hosted it). They requested an Easter card, birthday card using the new Wagon Full of Fun set from the upcoming Occasions Mini Catalog, and a 3D project. I wanted to promote the Occasions Mini pre-order sets as well as the Sale-A-Bration products. So, here is what I had them do:

Ingredients:

  • Eight Great Greetings Stamp Set (Occasions Mini)
  • Delicate Dots Designer Series Paper (SAB)
  • Whisper White and So Saffron Card Stock
  • Basic Black Ink
  • So Saffron 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon (SAB)
  • Watercolor Pencils
  • Blender Pen
  • Stampin' Dimensionals

Ingredients:

  • Wagon Full of Fun Stamp Set (Occasions Mini)
  • Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Pink Pirouette, and Whisper White Card Stock
  • Chocolate Chip, Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, Pink Pirouette Ink
  • Creamy Caramel and So Saffron Markers
  • Blender Pen
  • Baja Breeze Striped Grosgrain Ribbon
  • Big Shot and Texture Plates
  • Stampin' Dimensionals

Ingredients:

  • Polka Dot Punches Stamp Set (SAB)
  • Delicate Dots Desinger Series Paper
  • Kraft, Bashful Blue, So Saffron, and Certainly Celery Card Stock
  • Soft Subtles Brads
  • 5 Petal, 1 1/4" Circle, Scallop Circle, and Eyelet Border Punch
  • Stampin' Dimensionals
  • Big Shot and Box #2 Die

This the first part of the hostess gift I put together for each of my hostesses. I used the new Matchbox die for the Big Shot and the Great Friend stamp set that are both coming out in the Occasions Mini catalog.

Ingredients
  • Naturals White Card Stock
  • Delicate Dots Designer Series Paper
  • Basic Grey Ink
  • Regal Rose 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon
  • Big Shot and Matchbox Die
Here is a shot of the goodies I put inside. There is a black Stampin' Spot and an incentive stamp. I had to leave the stamp unmounted or else it wouldn't fit in the box.

In addition, I also gave them each one of these. It is a Stampin' Up! Post-It Note pad and Stampin' Up! pen. I stamped the Thank You Sentiment from the Thank You Kindly set in Basic Grey, tied the pens to the pad with some Pretty In Pink Ribbon and cut out the SU! 20 Year medallion with my Big Shot.

Lastly, here is the "Book to Look" I put together. I cut out a bunch of scallop envelopes with my Big Shot and inside I had cards with free products on it ranging from a spool of ribbon to $10 worth of free merchandise. If anyone was interested in booking a workshop of their own, they got to pick an envelope and would get their "prize" when they held their workshop. Unfortunately, I didn't get any takers that night. I did have one gal take a hostess brochure though. But now that I have this all put together I can put it out at all my workshops to entice people to book workshops of their own!
Anyway, we had a great time at the workshop and I met a bunch of nice gals that I hope to see again at future workshops!

Stampin' Up! Tools

Today I wanted to share with you a couple of tools I made to use at workshops and classes. This first one is a punch sample. I simply took a piece of card stock and punched it out using every Stampin' Up! punch (yes, I have them all!). Since all of our stamps are shown actual size in the catalog, people can use this to figure out which punches will work with each set.

Next, I made a card stock sample. I cut out a square of every color of card stock we offer (both regular and textured), including all the specialty card stock, vellum, and the Taste of Textiles paper. I labeled them and separated them by color family. The gals at my last class really liked this. They liked being able to see the entire color family of colors in real life.

Lars Anderson Page

Today I have another page from Chris' scrapbook for you. You can see my original post for all the details of this project, or click here to see all the pages I have posted so far. This one is another baseball card. I kept this page simple of course with just the card, a 5x7 of the actual photo, and a title with the player's name, team, and date the photo was taken (printed out on the computer). I also used a couple of my Stampin' Up! punches (Photo Corner and My Way) on this one. So this is another basic page for another one of his cards. Stay tuned for more pages coming soon! :)

Cards for Tomorrow's Technique Class

Tomorrow is my monthly Stampin' Up! technique class. I thought I would share the cards we are doing this month. This first card uses the new Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set. I really love this set. It is very sophisticated. This particular card actually doesn't use any special technique (other than using the stamp-a-ma-jig) but I wanted to demo this set so my gals could all get their hands on it (an hopefully order a set for themselves!).

Ingredients:
  • Fifth Avenue Floral Stamp Set
  • Whisper White, Basic Black, and Kiwi Kiss card stock
  • Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, and Basic Black ink
  • Dimensionals

For this next card I wanted to use one of the Sale-A-Bration sets. I chose to CASE one of the cards we made at the last Inkerbelle's get together as I wanted to show how the punches coordinate with the Polka Dot Punches set as well as demo using the Crop-O-Dile and rhinestone brads. This card also uses the designer paper and ribbon from the SAB catalog as well.

Ingredients:
  • Polka Dot Punches Stamp Set
  • Thank You Kindly Stamp Set
  • Delicate Dots Designer Series paper
  • Sahara Sand textured card stock
  • Whisper White and So Saffron card stock
  • Sahara Sand, So Saffron, and Certainly Celery ink
  • 5-Petal, Scallop Circle, and 1 1/4"circle punches
  • So Saffron 5/8" grosgrain ribbon
  • Pewter Jumbo Eyelets
  • Circle Fire Brads
  • Crop-O-Dile
  • Dimensionals

This next card demonstrates using the new texture plates for the Big Shot as well as the two step stampin' technique and the build-a-brad.

Ingredients:

  • Bird on a Branch stamp set
  • Garden Green, So Saffron, and Whisper White card stock
  • Chocolate Chip, Garden Green, and Tempting Turquoise Ink
  • Tempting Turquoise Grosgrain Ribbon
  • Texture Plates & Big Shot
  • Build-a-Brad
  • 1/2" circle punch
  • Dimensionals

I went retro with this next card to demonstrate coloring chipboard with craft ink and glitter.

Ingredients:
  • Cheep Talk stamp set
  • Pacific Point, Summer Sun, Kiwi Kiss, and Whisper White card stock
  • Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss, and Chocolate chip ink
  • Summer Sun Craft Ink
  • Good Morning Sunshine Designer Series Paper
  • On Board So Tweet
  • Fine Supernova Glitter

Well, I hope all my gals enjoy this months cards. I had fun making them!

Barry Zito Page

Today I have another page from Chris' scrapbook for you. You can see my original post for all the details of this project, or click here to see all the pages I have posted so far. This page is for the first picture Chris got published in a magazine. This is a photo of Barry Zito from the San Francisco Giants and was published in the May 19, 2008 issue of ESPN Magazine. For this page, I used black and orange card stock to coordinate with the Giants' team colors. I then cut out the article that features the picture along with the side bar that shows the photo credit. I printed out a small picture of the cover of the magazine and cut out the issue date from the actual magazine cover and pasted those on the page. I also printed out all the details of when and where the photo was taken and that is what you see at the top of the page. And lastly, of course, a copy of the actual photo itself. So, as before, this is a no frills page used to document another one of his published works!
