Very Busy Weekend!

This past weekend was a very busy weekend! Aimee's first dance recital was this weekend, so we had dress rehearsal, the recital, and of course family here for the show. In addition, we celebrated my birthday with dinner with friends and family on Saturday. So, today I have some goodies to share with you that I happened to get in between all that madness! First, here is the the card my friend (and downline) Kim made for me. It is a very cute pop up card using a new stamp set and in colors from the upcoming catalog:

Next, here is the card my mom made and gave to me. I have finally gotten her into making her own cards! :)

On to the recital. Aimee's class's dance was to "Good Ship Lollipop". Unfortunately, they did not allow photography during the show, but here is a picture of here in her costume after dress rehearsal.

My mom also made her a card to celebrate her first recital (good thing she did, because I did not have time!).

So, today, everything is back to normal, except I am still very tired! It was a lot of fun though!

One last thing - don't forget that today is the last day to order from the 2009 Spring/Summer catalog, Occasions Mini catalog, and the last chance lists. The new 2009-2010 catalog starts tomorrow! So, check back tomorrow for the new catty kickoff!

Business Card Holder

At our last swap, Kim also had this this cute business card holder project for us. She had made one for herself when she first became a demo and we all envied it. So, she finally shared it with us. Thanks Kim! I embellished mine with a simple bird cut out on my Big Shot with the Blooms and Birds die in Chocolate Chip card stock. I of course had to add the pink business cards to match! :)

Happy Father's Day!

I hope everyone had a good Father's day yesterday with their Dads, Husbands, significant others, etc.! We took my husband to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and had a really good time. Today I thought I would share with you the creations that my huband got for his Father's day. First, my 4 year old daughter Aimee painted this wooden frame for Daddy and picked out a picture of her and her sister to go in it. To make it extra special, I got one of those little voice recorders (one of the ones that are meant for scrapbooking) and had Aimee record a little Father's Day message. I stuck the recorder to the back of the frame with a glue dot.

Next, here is the card Allison (my 9 month old) and I made for daddy. I stamped her hand in Versamark Ink and then embossed it wih clear embossing powder. As you can imagine, 9 month olds are that cooperative with this kind of thing, so as you can see the hand print is not perfect (no her thumb is not really that big!) :) Then I stamped Daddy with the new Jumble Alphabet set.

Here is the card Aimee made for daddy. I let her pick out a baseball image from my baseball Cricut cartridge and we cut it out. She picked the colors and pasted everything together. Inside she wrote her own message as well. Again, I wanted to make these extra special, so I bought some of the cards where you can record your own message (they were Christmas cards that I found for really cheap!) and removed the recording device and added it these cards and had each of the girls record a message - I actually got Allison to say DA DA in hers! Needless to say, he loved them!

Lastly, here is the card I made and gave to him. No recording device for me on this one, since I can actually write my message. ;)

June Demo Swap

Yesterday we had our monthly demonstrator swap. This month Kim gave us all this layout to use:
We also decided to switch it up a bit and instead of just swapping cards, make one copy of the card and then bring the supplies for everyone to make their own card - Make and Take style! We had a lot of fun. Here is what we all came up with.

First, this is my card:

This is Merrigrace's card:

This is Kim's card:

This is Lenore's card:

All great cards, huh? I can't wait to see what next month's challenge will be!

Interested in joining our demo group? Sign up to be a demo and you can join in on the fun! Not to mention, reap all the benefits being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator has to offer!

Baby Shower Card

Today is my cousin-in-law Nicole's baby shower. This is her first (a boy) and I am very excited for her and her husband. Plus, my girls will finally have a cousin! Ha ha. Anyway, here is the card I made her to go along with her shower gift. I pretty much CASEd this card here. This features the reverse die cutting technique. I love how the negative portion of the Swirly die cutout looks like waves! I will definitely be using this trick again!

  • Nursery Necessities stamp set
  • So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, Pacific Point, Bashful Blue, and Whisper White card stock
  • Delicate Dots Designer Series Paper (retired)
  • Pacific Point Ink
  • Pumpkin Pie Corduroy Buttons
  • 2-Way Glue Pen
  • Dazzling Diamonds glitter
  • Big Shot

Ribbon Sneak Peek

Today I have another seek peek from the new catalog for you. Here is our new 1/2" polka dot grosgrain ribbon in the new in colors:

Aren't they pretty? The cool thing about these are that they are reversable. One side has the polka dots and the other does not. So you can have either polka dots or flip it over and have regular grosgrain ribbon on your projects. Pretty cool, huh? Each spool of ribbon will be $9.95 for 15 yards and is available for order starting July 1st.

Polished Stone Card

Today I wanted to share with you a card I made using the polished stone technique. I had actually made this to demo in one of my technique classes a while back. The class ended up getting canceled and I never went back and demoed this card. Since this card uses some of the current in colors, I will have to come up with a different card before I want to try and demo it again!

Ingredients:
  • Dreams de Jour Stamp Set
  • Pacific Point, Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, and Whisper White Glossy card stock.
  • Pink Pirouette and Riding Hood Red reinkers
  • Pacific Point, Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red, and Kiwi Kiss ink
  • Blender Pens
  • Scallop Edge punch
  • Rubbing Alcohol
